The last time I went to the Kent County SPCA, I met Mr. Cookies. He's the shelter's resident rabbit, an educator (he tags along for talks at schools) and an all-around good guy who lives just off the shelter's lobby.
Mary Ann D'Amato, the SPCA's community relations coordinator, says he's been so popular, in fact, that he's not up for adoption.
But if you're looking to adopt a rabbit, try the Southeastern Pennsylvania-Delaware Chapter of the House Rabbit Society, which operates a shelter in Newport. Call 683-9009 or the society's Web site.
