If you're looking for fun and philanthropy in one place, check out Faithful Friends' Martinis for Mutts (and Cats Too!) from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at Deep Blue Bar & Grill, 111 W. 11th St., Wilmington. Suggested donation is $20, and all of the proceeds benefit Faithful Friends, the no-kill shelter on Germay Drive in Wilmington.
I've been to one of these events and the conversation is great -- lots of fun pet people; the drinks are tasty; and the appetizers are delicious. Plus, they have great raffle prizes.
